The Municipal Council is taking a survey to consider the following:

For many years, land in Provo west of Interstate 15 has been nicknamed “The West Side.” There are some in the community that feel that this moniker does not communicate the full potential of this area of the community. We would like to consider a rebranding that more fully addresses the potential and amenities of this unique area of the city.

In considering a variety of names, we would still like to maintain the long-standing individual neighborhood names. Some of the names that seem to encompass this visionary focus is “The Lake District” or “Provo’s Lake District.” We would also like to consider your suggestions for naming concepts that may not yet have been considered. Other areas of the city that have benefitted perceptually from  a descriptive name include the Riverbottoms, the Tree Streets, Indian Hills, the Pioneer Neighborhoods, etc.

The area being considered encompasses all of the land west of I-15.
